Burnley Council trainees' thanks for food gifts

APPRENTICES from Burnley Council have thanked the public and colleagues for supporting a collection for Burnley Food Bank as part of their efforts to be named the best apprenticeship team in Britain.
The apprentices – known as Team Inspira – collected around 150 tins, jars and other items of food during two days. Boxes full of food were delivered to the food bank last Wednesday and the apprentices will help volunteers distribute the food to needy families across the borough.
Team member Richard Gill said: “We’d like to thank everyone who donated food for this very worthy cause. This was an inspiring task and we hope to continue our work further in the near future with the help of the public.”
