2:58pm Wednesday 13th March 2013 in News
Do you recognise this man?
DETECTIVES have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following a robbery at a shop.
The incident happened at Healey’s Off-Licence, in Market Street, Whitworth, when a man entered the store and punched a 47-year-old shopkeeper when he opened the till.
The offender rushed behind the shop counter and grabbed around £200 in cash before running off.
DC Steven Acres, from Pennine CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who has information about this incident to contact the police.
“CCTV images have been released of the man we would like to speak to in connection with this incident. I would appeal directly for that man to contact us, or if anyone recognises who he is, then I would urge them to get in touch.
“This was a very frightening incident for the shopkeeper, who has been left shaken following his ordeal, and officers are offering him support.”
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at around 4.30pm on Friday, March 1, can contact DC 49 Acres, or DS 2568 Charlie Haynes, on 01282 472240.
