Pendle MP hails success of green business

MP Andrew Stephenson has hailed the contribution of ‘green’ business to the local economy in his message for Climate Week 2013.
The recognition comes after the Pendle politician visited green technology firms Thunder Technology in Fence, and Kirk Environmental in Nelson. Climate Week, Britain’s biggest climate change campaign, runs from today until Sunday.
Mr Stephenson said: “Climate Week 2013 offers a great chance to look at not only the environmental but also the economic benefit of going green. Businesses across the region help to drive energy efficiency and generate growth and jobs.
“And through energy- efficiency schemes like our green deal, people will have the chance to save money on their energy bills by reducing the need to spend so much to stay warm.”
