Pendle MP asks for ideas on poverty

PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson is encouraging young people in secondary schools to take part in a new competition.

The ‘Shape the Future’ contest has been launched by the Department of International Development (DFID) which wants to hear from pupils about their ideas to eradicate poverty. The winners will get to present their ideas at the Department of International Development which will feed into the UN’s High Level panel.Mr Stephenson said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to let the Government know what ideas they have to eradicate poverty.

“I want as many students in Pendle to take this opportunity and have the chance to meet with the key decision makers.”
