Lessons in map reading offered to walkers by Pendle charity

PENDLE Leisure Trust’s Out and About project is running basic map-reading courses throughout 2013.

The courses will run over two days and are aimed at people with little to no experience of reading an Ordnance Survey map.

Wayne Bowman, project co-ordinator, said: “This course is aimed at giving people more confidence to go walking in low level countryside.”

The first course dates are Sunday, April 21 and 28 at Seedhill Athletics Centre in Nelson, and you must be able to attend both dates. Places must be pre-booked in advance and the cost is £20 per person. For more details, call 01282 661315.
