London trip for Rawtenstall pupils
12:59pm Tuesday 19th February 2013 in News
PUPILS at a Rawtenstall school got a first-hand taste of a musical they are studying with a trip to London.
A group of Year 11 All Saints Catholic High School students and staff visited the capital to watch a performance of Blood Brothers, which is part of the syllabus for their GCSE English Literature course.
As well as watching a production of the Willy Russell classic in Croydon, the students also visited the famous Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Gardens to take part in a drama workshop with an actor who had starred in the show.
Tom O’Sullivan, literacy co-ordinator at All Saints, said: “Everyone got into role and left with a wider understanding of key scenes and themes.”
