Haslingden school celebrates 'Class of 2012'

STUDENTS in Haslingden High School sixth form’s ‘Class of 2012’ were praised at an awards evening.

Director of sixth form and assistant headteacher Simon Heaton said the achievements of those who left the school last summer deserved recognition.

Mr Heaton said: “We had about 130 students in the class of 2012, many of whom have now gone on to university. It was a great year with our students achieving our best ever results, including the most ever A* to B grades.”

Awards were presented by guest speaker Tony Holt, director and owner of Rawtenstall company Linemark UK, which provides pitch markings for football clubs across Europe. It also manufactured the Olympic Rings logos used for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

He gave a talk on his career and handed out exam certificates, faculty prizes and special trophies.
