Nelson teenager kneed man in the face
2:12pm Monday 21st January 2013 in News
A TEENAGER from Nelson who attacked a man at a house in Burnley left him with blood pouring down his face, a court was told.
Magistrates heard that Liam Ashman, 19, was said to have kneed victim Andrew McKnight twice in the face in the early-hours assault, on December 15.
Mr McKnight fled from the property, went to Burnley General Hospital and called the police.
Ashman was arrested and made no comment but was picked out by the victim on a video identification parade.
The defendant, of Percy Street, Nelson, who has three previous convictions, admitted assault by beating.
The Bench, who told Ashman that drink played a significant part in the incident, gave him a four- week curfew, between 7pm and 6am, seven days a week. He must pay £70 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge and £20 costs.
