Firefighters with the rescued puppy
A SIX-MONTH-OLD puppy had to be rescue from freezing water in a Nelson park this morning.
The spaniel was being taken for a walk in Marsden Park at around 11am when it jumped into a frozen duck pond and fell below the ice.
Gary Ibbitson, watch manager at Nelson Fire Station, said: “We used water rescue equipment to break through the ice and carry the dog to safety.”

Six-month-old puppies should not find themselves in such positions of danger. Rather, they should spend their lives as members of a family, above humans in all respects. My Staffordshire has been accepted at Barking college. Beat that, any dog from Burnley.
