STUDENTS from Rossendale studied a number of obscure religions as part of a county-wide inter-faith project.
Haslingden High School was the only Valley school to take part in the scheme, and the Year 13 pupils’ findings were displayed at an exhibition in Preston.
Ten schools from across Lancashire met up to discuss faiths such as Zoroastrianism and Jainism.
Student Sarah Clapperton said: “We had to find out about Zoroastrianism and discovered it is a religion in India and is closely associated with fire and prophets.
“We then had to make our findings into a display which went on show at the Preston Inter-Faith Week opening ceremony at the Harris Museum.”
A Jain guest speaker also attended school and another student, Amy Nunn, said: “I found it interesting to find out about different religions that I did not know about before. It was also good to see people reading the work that we had done on the display.”
