COUNCILLORS are looking at designating a piece of land in Barnoldswick as a nature reserve.
Coun David Whipp, who chairs the West Craven Area Committee, said: “During the summer, we had a representative from The Wildlife Trust come to Barnoldswick. He drew my attention to the fact that we have a rich ecology, but we haven’t got many officially recognised nature reserves in Barnoldswick.
“We’re looking at possible areas to designate. One such possibility is the corridor that Stocks Beck follows through the town.”
