East Lancashire men told to be more healthy

MEN are being urged to take more care of themselves as part of a new scheme by Blackburn pharmacies.

Shocking new statistics by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) reveals men often don’t seek advice on treatment options.

During ‘Ask Your Pharmacist Week’, running this week, male residents are being encouraged to find out about NHS medicines advice services in pharmacies.

Pharmacist Zafar Iqbal, of Aston Pharmacy in Accrington Road, Blackburn, said: “Pharmacists aren’t just here for when people run out of plasters or headache tablets. “We provide a whole range of services and can give free confidential advice on all health related issues including smoking cessation and blood pressure monitoring.”
