Deer rescued from Bacup school railings trauma

A DEER was rescued by firefighters after it bolted and became stuck in a school fence.

The animal became caught after it was startled and ran towards the St Saviour’s Primary School railings. Firefighters from Bacup Fire Station used spreaders and cutting equipment to free the animal quickly.

Bacup watch manager Chris Howarth said: “Fortunately we were able to release it very quickly without causing any undue distress to the animal.”

The incident happened around 4pm on Thursday.
