CAMPAIGNERS fighting plans for a 55-metre high wind turbine on a farm near Worsthorne will meet to discuss the issue next week.
Ken Tyson wants to install the single turbine, which is a third of the size of Blackpool Tower, at Causewayside Farm, in Long Causeway, Cliviger, and has sent the plans to Burnley Council.
The turbine, which would be visible from homes in Cliviger and Worsthorne, would be connected to the National Grid, earning Mr Tyson money.
But a number of villagers fear it will cast a large shadow across the landscape and spoil the visual merits of the area.
They are also concerned it would be the first of many more in the area.
An action committee set up to reach a solution over the plans will meet at Hurstwood Church at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 15.
Residents are welcome to attend.
