Royal British Legion to give dementia help in Lancashire

THE ROYAL British Legion has branched out to support the carers and families of people with dementia in Lancashire.

The organisation has appointed Paula Smith as its lead nurse, who joins the Legion from Greater Manchester West NHS Foundation Trust.

She started working as an Admiral Nurse 11 years ago and will head up the legion’s community dementia nursing service in Lancashire, run in partnership with Dementia UK’s admiral nurses.

She will be supported by Zoe Scowcroft and Leah Rickards, who between them have 17 years’ experience as admiral nurses.

The service will support the carers and families of those with dementia within the Armed Forces community.
