A FORMER mayor said he and his wife had been overwhelmed' with support from well-wishers since she was diagnosed with cancer.
Granville Lord's wife Patricia was diagnosed earlier this year.
Mr Lord, a former councillor and Padiham mayor said: "It is sad but the good thing to come from this is the unbelievable support we have had from everybody.
"It's absolutely tremendous we are still getting cards and letters. It's the best medicine anyone can receive. My wife has been overcome with the support.
"She was in tears from a letter she received from a cancer sufferer.
"Myself and my two sons, Allen and Paul, are keeping positive about the whole thing. Our friends have not let us down"
