Padiham takeaway plans approved despite protests
9:27am Thursday 21st June 2012 in Padiham
A PLANNING inspector has over-ruled councillors and allowed a corner shop to be converted into an Italian takeaway in Padiham.
Councillors had initially rejected Samir Hergli’s proposals for the vacant stores at the top end of Byron Street because they felt there was not enough off-street parking.
And the borough’s development control committee, turning it down last November, was worried that there would not be enough room for cars to negotiate the narrow street.
But planning inspector J Stuart Nixon said that, during a visit, existing parking bays there were ‘not well-used’ and there were plenty of on-street spaces.

It seems as though Padihams planning officer is related to Pendle's when it comes to approving Take-aways.
