Victim left with cut arm after attempted robbery in Padiham

A MAN was left with a slash type injury to his arm during an attempted robbery in Padiham.

The 31-year-old victim was walking home along the railway path close to Shuttleworth Mead when he was approached by two men with shaved heads.

They tried to punch him and demanded his wallet during the incident on Saturday, at around 12.30am, close to the industrial units.

The victim required treatment at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The first offender was white, in his early 20s, around 6ft and wore a dark jacket which had white writing on the left upper sleeve.

The second offender was also white and in his early 20s. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a yellow ‘Y3’ on the front.

DC Neil Scholes from Pennine CID said, “I would appeal for anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch with the police.

“The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries and has been left shaken up following this incident. “ Anyone with information is asked to call Burnley police on 101.
