WALLPAPER giant Graham and Brown has announced that it is to make 28 redundancies.
Bosses at the firm said the job losses will be made across its factory site in Blackburn and distribution operation in Shuttleworth Mead, Padiham.
The company currently employs 455 people.
Boss Andrew Graham said the firm had suffered a blow in May last year when one of its key customers, Focus DIY, went into administration.
He said: “We have today entered into a period of consultation with our employees in collaboration with Unite the union.
“We lost a major UK customer when Focus DIY went into administration. Since then the economic conditions in our core markets, UK and Europe, have significantly deteriorated.
“Graham & Brown understands that this is a difficult and uncertain time for our employees but will manage the situation with them in collaboration with Unite as carefully as possible.”
