A MAN left fighting for life after being seriously assaulted in Padiham has come out a coma.
Carlo Robinson, suffered a serious bleed on the brain and was left in a coma following an incident in the Melbourne Street area on October 27.
Doctors feared Mr Robinson’s injuries were so severe he would never wake up.
But the 48-year-old, who is being treated in Salford Royal Hospital, is said to be improving.
A police spokesman said: “Mr Robinson’s condition is improving every day. He is no longer in a coma.
“The hospital has described his condition as stable.”
Police were called to Mr Robinson’s home, in Melbourne Street, after receiving reports from paramedics a man had been assaulted the previous night.
A window at his property was damaged in the incident, police said.
Ryan Williamson, 30, of Ingham Street, Padiham, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He is to appear before Burnley Crown Court to answer the charges.
A police spokesman said: “A number of enquiries have already taken place including CCTV and house to house enquires.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the Melbourne Street and Stockbridge Road area between 10:15pm and 10:30pm on October 27 and witnessed anything to come forward and contact us on 08451 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
