Work to provide a fish migration route at the weir in Padiham is set to start in March and last for three months, the Environment Agency has confirmed.
A spokesman said: “The final design will reduce and remove part of the weir and provide a series of rock cascades downstream of the weir.
"This will provide a gentle and natural gradient through which fish can swim and will look more natural.”
