THE head of a Burnley College is set to be appointed to the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership team promoting skills training for the young.
A report to its Skills and Employment Board on Wednesday says a senior teacher should be added to its membership.
The document reviews the work Lancashire Skills Hub to boost training and technical abilities among the county's young people.
Its director Dr Michele Lawty-Jones urges the inclusion of a secondary school head as a member LEP 's Skills and Employment Board .
She recommends the appointment of Ruth England, headteacher at Shuttleworth College in Padiham.
In May last year an Ofsted inspection of the school praised a ‘transformational change’ at the school since her appointment in September 2014.
Dr Lawty-Jones said the new appointment would boost the hub and board's 'focus on the future workforce'.
Mrs England is Lancashire's representative on the national Careers and Enterprise Company headteacher advisory group and involved in developing a new county 'Careers Hub' .
