A HOUSING company has released a statement following a gas explosion.
The incident happened at a property in Garden Street in Padiham on Sunday morning and left one man in hospital receiving treatment for burns.
The rear of the house suffered structural damaged and a neighbouring property had to be evacuated as a precaution.
The house is owned by Burnley housing group Calico, who said no gas issues had been reported at the address.
A spokesman for Calico said "Our main concern continues to be the customer and neighbours affected by this incident.
"Our staff responded swiftly and the two affected houses have been secured.
"The next-door neighbours have been temporarily rehoused and we are continuing to work with local residents to provide support.
"The cause is currently unclear; however, we can confirm that no gas issues had been reported at the address and none were outstanding.
"If anyone has any concerns, please call us on 0800 169 2407."
