A YOUNG entrepreneur has shown true grit as his pebble pictures proved a hit.
Shuttleworth College student Jacob Routh started making the hand-made picture gifts after a holiday in Cornwall where he collected hundreds of pebbles off the beach.
The 11-year-old has been making them into ‘family’ pictures which have been sold at Burnley Teenage Market and Bolton and Blackburn markets.
He said: "I used different sizes of pebbles as heads and bodies and take it from there. The big problem is when the pebbles run out so I have to keep a steady supply of them.”
At the Burnley Teenage Market he and fellow Shuttleworth College student Nicole Tipping won stall of the day with Jacob making hundreds of pounds.
He said: "My mum and dad help me deliver the pictures to wherever I am selling them. It takes around 30 minutes to make a picture and they start at £6, depending on the size.”
Jacob, who also plays football for Brierfield Celtic, has one aim: “I want to make millions," he added.
