Burnley Magistrates issued a warrant of further detention at 9.30am today for a 20-year-old and two 19-year-olds currently in custody in relation to the murder.

A 16-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 17-year-old boy, being quizzed on suspicion of violent disorder, also remain in custody.

The 50-year-old from Nelson was stabbed in the abdomen and hit over the head with an iron bar in Thompson Park, beside Burnley College, at 1.30pm on Tuesday.
