East Lancs care home residents evacuated in fire

RESIDENTS of a Hapton care home were evacuated after a tumble dryer caught fire this morning.

Fire crews were called to Wordsworth Care Centre at 8.30am, and left the scene just before 10am.

Police were called as a precaution, but were not needed. No-one was injured.
