POLICE fear green-fingered thieves are on the loose in Hapton – and have warned residents to be on the look-out.
Officers in the village say a number of “unusual” thefts have been reported in the past few weeks.
A four-wheeled plant trailer, a hydraulic attachment from an earth-moving machine and a locked steel container have all gone missing.
PC Graeme Lund said: “Investigations are under way and extra attention is being paid to vulnerable areas, in particular secluded areas of the Hapton with Park ward.
“However, in the meantime we would urge residents and businesses in the affected area to be vigilant, to make sure that such items are left in a secure and safe environment and to report any suspicious activity.”
