AN INVESTIGATION into a house fire in which a woman died has ruled out foul play.

The fire which killed 21-year-old Hapton woman Katrina Rose Black is not thought to have involved other persons, police said.

Officers have released a statement confirming they are not looking for anyone in connection with the fatal blaze, on Sunday night.

Known to friends as Rosie, the young mum was a former Colne Park High School, and a former Burnley College sixth form student.

A post-mortem examination found she died as a result of toxic fumes from the fire at her terrace Manchester Road home, where she was the sole tenant.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police can confirm that there is no third party involvement. We are not looking for anybody else in connection with the fire.”

The circumstances surrounding the death are now expected to be reviewed by the coroner.
