A MAN who lost his good character over ‘drunken damage’ ended up with a £235 bill.
Burnley magistrates heard how Sebastian Evans, 24, broke a van door to the value of £150 on May 6. Evans, of Castle Street, Hapton, admitted the damage to the vehicle.
The defendant, who had no previous convictions, was fined £30, with £150 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £35 costs.
The court was told Evans, who had recently lost his job, spent a night in the cells following the crime.
His solicitor, Jasmine Basnyet, told the bench : “You may be of the opinion he has well and truly learnt a lesson.”
