RESIDENTS in rural Burnley are being urged to join four flourishing neighbourhood watch schemes which have been set up in the Worsthorne and Cliviger areas.
Watch projects have been launched in the Bouldsworth, Hillcrest, Lindsay Park and Southward Bottom districts over the past few years.
And a Rural Watch scheme, covering even more remote areas, has now been established concentrating on crime prevention in farming and green belt communities.
Police community support office Dave Johnson says the schemes have been looking at a number of issues and would welcome new members.
Anyone interested can call Burnley police on 01282 425001.
