TRAVELLERS who set up camp on a farmer's field in Cliviger have moved on.
Police served a notice on the group of around eight caravans and trailers on land belonging to Foxstones Farm, between Foxstones Lane and Red Lees Road.
They were given a deadline to leave the site by 2.30pm yesterday and they complied.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “The group were issued with a section 61 notice and left the site when asked to do so.”
Travellers who set up camp on the site of the former Towneley High School have yet to leave, despite attempts by the council to evict them.
