THE singer of a popular East Lancashire soul band has been left ‘angry and frustrated’ after cars were stolen from outside his home.

Danny Finn, lead singer of the Soul Convicts, said his and his wife’s cars were taken from their house in Cliviger in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Thieves broke in through the window and searched the property for the car keys before driving off with the vehicles.

Mr Finn’s Audi A4 was later found burnt out near Crow Wood in Burnley and contained more than £600 of musical equipment which was reduced to a ‘pile of molten’.

His wife’s car, a white Citroen DS3, has since been recovered by police.

Mr Finn said: “At first it was just the confusion as to how this has happened.

“Then there’s the terror that someone has been going around your house while your asleep, looking through personal items.

“There was stuff on the floor, they were clearly just looking for the car keys.

“Then there is the anger and frustration.

“It’s just thoughtless vandalism.”

At around 4am in the morning Mr Finn said his wife’s brother heard the dog calling and realised the door was open.

When he later went to look for his keys he realised the cars had been stolen.

The 30-year-old said both he and his wife rely on the cars for work.

An online fundraising page has been set up by a friend of Mr Finn in America to raise money for the musical kit stolen.

A microphone with a stand, a wireless in ear monitor and an effects peddle were among the items in the car which was burnt out.

Mr Finn said: “I’m absolutely touched they’ve set it up.

“I honestly can’t thank them enough.”

Police said investigations were still ongoing into the incident.

A spokesman said: “Unknown offenders gained entry to the property and took two sets of car keys.

“The Audi was later found believed to be burnt out.

“Investigations are still ongoing and we would urge anyone with any information to get in contact with us.”
