Fire crews rescued two trapped drivers after a collision involving five vehicles near Mereclough.
Vehicles heading towards Burnley were caught up in a collision on Kebs Road.
A vehicle is thought to have struck a stone wall, then collided with another vehicle trapping two male drivers inside.
Three other vehicles were also caught up in the crash.
Two men were taken to hospital by air ambulance. The road was closed at Eastwood Road, The Long Causeway and Shaw Lane following the incident at 9am.
