RESIDENTS are taking part in a unique consultation event to share their views about an area of Burnley.
Architects from Burnley Council have been asking residents and workers what their first thought is when they think about Burnley Wood.
And their answers have been posted in three-foot high blue plaques' on boarded-up homes along Oxford Road and Brunswick Street, near Burnley Wood Children's Centre.
The views demonstrate an affection for the area, recently identified as one of the most deprived wards in Britain.
But one key theme is more needs to be done to improve facilities.
Young contributor Kirsty said: "The area needs more activities to do - the kids are bored."
Lenny said that there should be "more parks and more skate parks".
Council bosses say they they will take the views into account when they decide on the final masterplan for Burnley Wood later this year.
A council spokesman said: "The work has been produced by Kevin Carter and civic architects.
"The work was carried out in response to the question - what is your first thought when you think about your neighbourhood?'"
Similar regeneration work, alongside area action plans, are scheduled for south-west Burnley, Piccadilly and Trafalgar, Daneshouse, Duke Bar and Stoneyholme and Burnley town centre.
