A DRINK driver was almost four times the limit when breath tested, Burnley magistrates heard.

William Doherty, 45, of Sutcliffe Street, Briercliffe, gave a test showing 129 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.

The defendant admitted drink driving. He was given 12 months supervision, was banned and was told to take the drink impaired drivers' programme.
