A CROOK the probation service was said to have given up on, has been jailed for a month.
Father-to-be Paul Norwood, 27, had deep-rooted drink and drugs problems after suffering neglect, and Burnley Crown Court heard, he had had an ‘'awful life’.
The probation service had tried to help him and had given him every opportunity, but he had just turned up when he wanted.
The hearing was told Norwood had only just been given a suspended jail term when he was drunk and causing trouble in the town.
Norwood had been shouting at a man in a car while banging on the windows, had been asked by the police to stop and leave, but had jumped on the bonnet and then slid off. He ended up being arrested.
The defendant, of Oxford Street, Brierfield, had admitted being drunk and disorderly on April 30, in breach of the suspended term and had been committed for sentence by magistrates.
