Burnley parks can keep the Green Flag flying

ALL of Burnley's parks have kept their prestigious Green Flag Award for the third consecutive year.

Towneley, Thompson, Queens, Scott, Ightenhill and Padiham Memorial parks have all retained the honour and will be celebrating their success during Love Parks Week, from tomorrow to July 29.

Burnley Council manages 511 hectares of parks and open spaces.

Coun John Harbour, Burnley Council’s Executive Member for Leisure and Culture, said: “I’d also like to thank the very active Friends of Parks groups here in Burnley, who do so much for their communities. To have not one but six award winning parks in a relatively small town is outstanding.”
