Runaway sheep on M65 motorway

POLICE in Barrowford were called to deal with a runaway sheep near the M65 yesterday morning.

It is believed the sheep has been on the run since 6pm on Sunday evening when officers started receiving calls from motorists.

It was finally caught in a car park in Roughlee Street after travelling from the motorway near Colne to junction 13.

Barrowford Pet Store boss Chez Owen assisted police as they tracked down the sheep.

He said: “It was a bit crazy really, nobody knew what was going on. We are more used to dealing with household pets than farm animals but we did all we could to help the police and they seemed to really appreciate it.”

The lost sheep, christened Shaun, will be re-homed at Thornton Hall Farm Country Park after attempts to find its owner were unsuccessful.

Your ferret stinks says...

All the good folks of barrowford have asked if the sheep needs a new home and are prepared to take it on, but only if it's the marrying type.
