Ex-partner dragged Burnley woman by hair

A MAN who pulled his estranged partner's hair then tried to make up with her and hugged her, Burnley magistrates heard.

The court was told how Michael Shackleton, 23, struck just after midnight when he met the victim as she returned from a local garage.

He was said to have dragged her along the ground by her hair.

Police arrived to find the victim crying, Shackleton ran away, an officer shouted for him to stop and he was eventually found hiding behind a tree.

The defendant, of Baker Street, Burnley, admitted assaulting Katie Hargreaves by beating her, on June 9.

He was given an 18 hour attendance centre order.
