AN ELDERLY woman had a lucky escape after a crash on the M65.
The incident, involving a green Peugeot 206, took place between junctions 10 and 11 near Burnley on the east-bound carriageway, causing some traffic disruption.
The vehicle hit the central barrier and spun round to face the wrong way in the central reservation, but the driver managed to escape without being hurt.
Sgt Sean Cunningham, of the Road Policing Unit at Lancashire Police, said: “The car was being driven by an elderly female driver, who was shaken up but uninjured.”
Both carriageways were affected by the crash but were cleared once the car had been recovered.
