A TEENAGE boxer turned model from Burnley is hoping she will prove to be a knockout in a Europe-wide beauty contest.

Fifteen-year-old Sasha Bennington has already been crowned the Face of Lancashire and is the reigning Miss Teen Burnley.

And now she is set to strike a blow for Lancashire's hopes in the Face of Europe finals at Disneyland Paris from December 5 to 9.

Earlier this year the Shuttleworth College student beat Cheshire fighter Beth Campbell to win the North West ABA title in Manchester.

Outside the ring, charity work is her other great passion, with fundraising among her hobbies.

In her submission to the judges, Sasha, from Ightenhill, said: “I am a great role model to other girls, and I also raise money for several charities, and have visited other countries where I have witnessed natural disasters.

“I feel that I would be able to promote my title throughout Europe, as my experience in life so far has made me the genuine, honest person that I am today.”

Her continental crusade, on the back of previous successes such as being named Miss Teen Great Britain, has been supported by Salford-based Mistoria Lettings.

Sasha's mother Jayne Harris added: “Sasha has been bullied for a number of years and is looking to prove that your dreams can come true.”

The well-travelled youngster speaks five languages and has ambitions of becoming an air hostess.
