THE first images of how a redeveloped Weavers Triangle could look have been released.

Computer-generated images have brought plans to turn the former industrial area into a stylish residential, retail and commercial complex to life.

Bury-based property firm Nolan Redshaw have released the images alongside their Burnley partners Petty.

The two agents have been charged with marketing the two-and-a-half-acre site to interested developers.

Paul Nolan, director of agency and development at Nolan Redshaw, said the scheme offered a great opportunity.

He said: “This is an exciting opportunity which can be developed in isolation or together with the Burnley Council land which lies adjacent to this site.

“The site is almost completely cleared and would a provide a developer with an exciting opportunity as the site does not have the constraints of the existing conservation area buildings.”

Planning permission to convert large parts of the Weavers Triangle site into residential, commercial and retail use has already been given.

Burnley Council recently teamed up with the National Grid to spruce up large parts of Weavers Triangle site.

The work will see debris and litter cleared to make way for benches, grassed areas and pathways in a bid to attract new businesses to the area.

The £200million scheme was scaled back earlier this year to attract cautious developers to the site.

The redevelopment had stalled after the recession hit.
