RESIDENTS in Burnley will get the chance to have their say on the design for a brand new community college.
Local people are being encouraged to put forward their ideas for the Hameldon Community College, which is to be built on the former St Hilda’s site, off Coal Clough Lane, Burnley.
The design team behind the plans are keen to show the latest plans to local people and get their feedback before a formal planning application is submitted.
Residents are being invited to a drop-in event at the Enterprise Centre, Valley Street, on Wednesday, July 16, between 5pm and 7pm.
Hameldon headteacher Gill Broom said: “The new school will be at the heart of the community.
“It is important to start building links with local people.
“I hope as many of our potential neighbours and parents as possible come and look at the plans.”
Under Lancashire County Council’s £250million Building Schools for the Future programme Hameldon will be rebuilt as a school for 750 11 to 16-year-olds.
