A MAN has been arrested after allegedly threatening bar-goers with a sword.

Police were called to Bar BB11 in Burnley shortly before midnight following reports of a man brandishing a sword and threatening revellers.

A police spokesman said the man had been removed from the bar earlier in the evening and had returned with the sword.

He said: "We had reports of a male brandishing a sword and threatening members of the public.

"He had returned to the pub after being ejected earlier.

"On arrival the male had already left the scene, but after conducting local enquiries officers were able to identify the suspect.

"He was arrested at his home on suspicion of affray and a sword was also recovered."
