POLICE closed a road after a man threatened to jump from a multi-storey car park.
Bethesda Street in Burnley was closed this afternoon due to the incident at Curzon Square multi-storey car park.
A Marks and Spencer employee said: "The police came and blocked the road this afternoon.
"Then it came through to our CCTV room on the radio, someone was threatening to throw themselves off the multi-storey car park.
"Hopefully it will all work out for the person."
A police spokesman said they were called after a passer-by became concerned for the man's safety.
She said: "We were called shortly after 12.30pm to reports of a concern for safety.
"The gentleman had been spotted on the roof of the car park.
"He came down shortly before 1.30pm and has been taken to a place of safety and checked over."
The road has been re-opened.
