DETECTIVES are hunting two men who attempted to rob a 13-year-old boy.

Police said the boy and his brother were walking home from school, along Abel Street, Burnley, when they were approached by two men.

The men repeatedly asked the boys for the time before one grabbed the 13-year-old around the shoulders and patted down his jacket, looking for a mobile phone.

He then tried to lead the boy down a side street but was interrupted by the boy’s brother and ran away.

The incident happened at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, October 18.

No arrests have been made.

A police spokesman said: "The first man was described as 5ft 6in to 5ft 9in tall, slim, with a tanned or Asian complexion and wearing a black and blue tracksuit.

"The second man was around the same height, white, with ginger hair and wearing a black tracksuit top with white bands around the chest and down the arms."
