A MAN who drove after after crashing his car into another vehicle and then failed to provide a a sample of breath when asked to do so by the police has been banned form driving.

Burnley magistrates heard how Stephen Jackson, 51, was driving a Nissan Qashqai when it crashed into a Peugeot 108.

The incident happened in Old Accrington Road, Burnley, on September 14.

Jackson, of Coal Clough Lane, Burnley, pleaded pleaded guilty to failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to provide a specimen when required to do so by a police officer, driving without due care and attention, and failing to report an accident in which damage was caused.

Jackson was banned from driving for 17 months and made subject of a six-week curfew. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge. No application for compensation was submitted.
