THREE generations from the same family are gearing up to take part in Burnley’s first Colour Dash to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice.

Former hospice bank nurse Janet Wilding, 65, her daughter Jane Wilding, 37 and her granddaughter Rebecca Wilding 16 taking part in the 5k event at Thompson Park on Sunday.

Janet, who took on the role of a volunteer driver for the Hospice 18 months ago, has previously taken part in Pendleside Hospice fundraising event including the Midnight walk and the Girls Night Out along with Jane and Rebecca.

Jane said: "We enjoy taking part in fund raising events for the hospice as part of a family and feel the Colour Dash will be a family friendly event."

More than 1,000 people have already signed up to take part in event at Thompson Park, which is the first event of its kind in the area.

Over the course of a 5k route, participants get showered in colourful paints as they walk, jog, skip or run through the various colour blast stations.

The route is suitable for all ages and abilities, as well as being wheelchair friendly.
