A 29-YEAR-OLD man stole a nurse's bag containing medical supplies from her car parked on the drive outside her home.
Blackburn magistrates heard Christian Carl Wheadon discarded the bag after rifling through it and discovering nothing he wanted.
Wheadon, of Belvedere Road, Burnley, pleaded guilty to theft from a motor vehicle.
He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £10 compensation and £30 victim surcharge.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the incident had been caught on CCTV installed at the victims home.
"It would appear that having looked through the bag and seen what was in it the defendant has discarded it and most of the property was recovered," said Miss Allan.
Mark Williams, defending, said the car, which was parked on the owner's drive, had been left unlocked.
"It is not an excuse for him to enter the vehicle but it does mean there was no damage caused," said Mr Williams.
