A £155,000 revamp of the gym at Padiham Leisure Centre has been given the go-ahead.
The decision was passed by Burnley Council to replace equipment in Park Road that is up to eight years old.
The money will include a new ‘spinning’ bike initiative, a class-based exercise involving specially-designed gear-resistance bicycles.
Burnley Council leader Cllr Mark Townsend said: “It’s absolutely a good thing, it’ll be great to get the new state of the art equipment in.”
The centre undertook a makeover in 2008, costing £1.25million and boasts exercise equipment, a separate kids gym for eight to 14-year-olds, a dance studio, sauna, a five-a-side football pitch and a health studio.
Work is expected to start as soon as possible
